Week 30 Recap and Week 31 Preview

Recap

I wrote 2,520 words this week! What a week. Early in the week I thought I was handling the urge to procrastination, and then it progressively got worse and worse. Haven’t completely fallen off yet though! Only five more months to go. I’ll find my rhythm once again.

Turgid was a rush job, since I wasted the free time I did have procrastinating, and then was busy for a good chunk of yesterday. I like the idea of it though, but I could have done a lot more with it.

As for the other prompts things went a little more smoothly. Gusset made me chuckle, and rural was also pretty fun to write. Spine… went a slightly different way than I first imagined, but it worked out well enough. Wean felt weird, but smear, well, smear puts more of the Star Surfer into focus and plans for Raymundo to continue to stay hidden. It was probably the most plot relevant flash fiction.

August is tomorrow! Let’s see what the first week of my birthday month brings me.

August 1st: muckraker

August 2nd: scrotum

August 3rd: cummerbund

August 4th: viscous

August 5th: chafe

August 6th/7th: diphthong

Well then. This week will be interesting. Scrotum will be an odd one to add, and diphthong is such a specific word it may be a little difficult. Same with muckraker, a narrow definition, and one tied to an era of history. Will be a bit of a head scratcher, but possibly fun.

All in all, hopefully this group of words will do more to inspire me as a way to combat procrastination.
